Sabres' Summer Camp or the IIHF World Ice Hockey Championships

by Anne

We have our first appearance of a Sabre at the IIHF Hockey Championships for Division 1.

In this corner....wearing #26 for Team Austria iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis Thomas "SabreBritney" Vaaaaannnneeeekkkkk!

Woooo! Britters is a total BFD (big f$%@*in' deal) over there, and I find it exciting.

In their fist game on April 13 against Korea, Austria won 8-0. Britters didn't get a goal, but he had 2 assists:

Woooo!

In Game 2 on April 14, v. Great Britian, he had a hat trick! Wooo! He likes those. Austria beat Britian 10-5:

Question: Who's surprised that his first goal was a tip-in?
Answer: No Sabres fans

In Game 3 (today) he had 2 goals when Austria defeated The Netherlands 4-1:

I get the feeling Britters is like the Sidney Crosby of Austrian hockey. His picture is at the top of every article

Yay!

After their third game, Britters leads the tournament in goals scored (5), is 2nd in the tournament in scoring with 9 points (5+4), has a +4, and 4 PIM.

Yay!!

Vanek shakes a random man's hand next to his team's totally rad mascot

Sniffle, sniffle. I'm so proud of our little train wreck, he's all growed up and playing for his country and whatnot!

  1. Wait, these games are going on now? Dude, I'm in Austria! Why is no one talking about it?! I want my hockey fix!

Heh, maybe I should like... pick up the paper every now and again. Or something.

    In any case: Wooooo, Vanek!
