- Rob Ray is shorter than you'd think he'd be, and his head does look as enormous in person
- Goose was on the bench doing his pre-game meditation way later than usual. He was still there at 20 minutes to 7:00
- If you're cut off from beer consumption at HSBC Arena and you're caught with another beer, you will be escorted out of the building
- Mark Mancari scored another goal, giving him 18 points and moving him to 2nd in the AHL in scoring
- Tim Kennedy ending his point streak :(
- I was that graceful popcorn vendor mentioned in John Vogl's live blog, the one who dropped the tray.
- Larry Quinn is also shorter in person than you'd think
- Montreal also lost in a shootout so we maintain our 1 point lead in the division
- In spite of the fact that Buffalo is, in fact, in the United States, all of the ushers were wearing poppies for Canada's Remembrance Day (FYI, until about 10 seconds before I hit "publish post" that said "poopies" instead of "poppies")
- This is how Drew Stafford reacted when Lindy told him he would be benched:
Drew! Do NOT throw pucks at Lindy!!!
That about covers it. Hey, we got a point, Max got the monkey off his back and scored, Vanek maintained his scoring lead, Grizz scored one for MK and I bet Lalime starts tomorrow.
Whats with Ryan Miller either allowing 0 goals or 5? Whatev, it wasn't a divisional game, and its not as though the Thrashers are going to do much with those 2 points.... aaaaand cue EPIC Atlanta winning streak.
Is that really what Stafford did after being told that he'd be benched?
ReplyDeleteIf so, AHAHAHA.
Everybody knew he would be the one to be benched... Suck it up, Drew, and come back with the desire to play better.

ReplyDeleteI have to agree; this was the first thing I thought when I saw him at Ambrosia during breakfast last year.

This is what I kept telling my friends as we walked out of the game - one point still keeps us first in the Northeast!
The poppies (or poopies LOL) are actually for Veterans Day- which is celebrated in America too. The Canadians really get into it, but it's not just them. They are more with it I guess since "In Fladers Field" was written by a Canadian... and they wear poppies for 2 weeks before Veterans Day/Rememberance Day.
ReplyDeleteJust a little history for you- I Knew some of that already, the rest I looked up earlier. LOL I'm such a GEEK.
I don't want to think about this game. How many times do we play the stupid Thrashers this year? I'm tired of them already.

ReplyDeleteI think Drew got all emo after hearing he was going to be benched too, and decided to shave his legs. AHHH, WHAT AN AWFUL THING THAT WOULD BE. ): If there's one thing I love about Drew Stafford, it's his hairy-ness.

haha, no i think that pic is from development camp or practice or something, but I WISH that was true. He'll pull a Paille and be back with a vengeance.

ReplyDeleteits such a refreshing feeling to be able to say that after a loss instead of, "ok we got a point, now we're only 5 points out of the basement."

ReplyDeleteUGH. I know. They suck yet we've lost to them twice. Blah.

ReplyDeleteHe's such a beast in so many ways, hahaha.
I'm impressed that Stafford is on the ice in sneaks and moving around and not falling flat on his derriere. If that were me, I would have fallen off balance 3.2 seconds after setting foot on the ice.

Concurred. He was kind of average height when I saw him and Mr. G. exiting the 200 level elevators at Puck Drop.

ReplyDeleteI know! Every time I see a player on the ice in anything but skates, like Sidney Crosby who wears Crocs on the ice, I'm in awe. I can barely skate, let alone walk around on pure ice, haha.
