The Results Are In

by Anne

Here it is, FINALLY. It took a while to do. You'd think compiling images and video of attractive men would be something I would eagerly look forward to doing. I did look forward to it, but formatting images and video can be kind of time consuming and I'd rather be distracted by watching actual hockey. Now that we find ourselves with only the All-Star Weekend, I managed to find the time some way, some how. Enjoy!

Here are the starting line-ups, players listed in the order they finished in the polls.

From your Buffalo Sabres, #28, Center, Paul Gaustad:

This one's for Kim (or Cari, but I think it was Kim) who said that Goose in glasses is the hottest thing ever. Enjoy.

Paul Gaustad is unphased by the cold, all others around him with their coats zipped up all the way, wearing headcoverings and gloves do not have one tenth of his manliness... or something like that.
Paul is all "Rinks are colder."

I see this picture frequently but have no clue what its from
Its both hilarious and pleasing to the eye.

Coming in at #2 from the Washington Capitals, #21, Center, Brooks Laich:

Woooooooo. Ladies man, indeed.

Brooksy when the Hershey Bears won the Calder Cup
Is that a cell phone in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

And rounding out your forward line up from the Philadelphia Flyers, Right Wing, #9 Scottie Upshall:

The apple don't fall far from the tree. Here's Papa Upshall.

Ok so, no, this picture isn't exactly "hot", and Scott Hartnell is in it (sorry), but look at that determination

I think I could stare at this picture all day and still feel like I had accomplished something that day.

On defense for the East from the Boston Bruins, #21 Andrew Ference.

I must admit I secretly really love the totally clean-cut look.
I assume the woman is his wife/girlfriend, why doesn't she get to talk? haha

His partner on the blueline from the Toronto Maple Leafs, #2, Luke Schenn.

So he's young. He's this cute now, imagine him after a few more years of NHL life toughening him up.

And starting in goal from the New York Islanders, #39 Rick DiPietro.

Someone so pretty shouldn't be so fragile, Ricky.
Enjoy your time off, if you can.

Their opponents from the Western Conference:

From the St. Louis Blues, Center, #21, Patrik Berglund

No one told the Blues to take more pictures of him or feature him in videos so I'll just post the same pictures again because they're even better the second time around.

So.

Pretty.

From the Chicago Blackhawks, Center/Wing, #10, Patrick Sharp

There were many options for topless video, but I opted for this one, also featuring a topless Adam Burish. Enjoy.

Finally, rounding out the top line from the Columbus Blue Jackets, Left Wing, #61, Rick Nash

This is like the best "singles" video I've ever seen. Hahahaha

This girl's face is the best because I'm pretty sure I'd be that goofy as well

On defense from the Colorado Avalanche, #4, John-Michael Liles

Try as I might, I couldn't find video of J-M that was decent enough quality to post, so enjoy pictures of him and some kids that I'm pretty sure are not his own:

I'm not sure which gent is cuter

HA!
Win.

this is both scary and hilarious

Also on defense from the Vancouver Canucks, #55, Shane O'Brien

:)

Back in the day, O'B was a Pirate and one of the most popular Portland Pirates in team history. He even had his own radio show. He was voted to have his own bobblehead made to be given out by the Pirates at an upcoming game.

Baby!
Girls and babies.
How we roll.

Finally, in net for the West, from the Colorado Avalanche, #1, Andrew Raycroft.

I had to cut his breakfast out of the shot

Aw, you're in Colorado now, Andrew, its ok.

The player that received the most votes was Paul Gaustad. Therefore, we declare him captain of the East and Nash the captain of his squad. Nasher is also the only player featured on this roster to appear in the actual All-Star Game where he was named as a member of the Western Conference reserves. Yay Nasher! You're pretty and skilled! Hooray!

I got a call this morning that I don't have to work the rest of the weekend. Being broke is awesome. Classes start Monday. It doesn't seem real, haha.

Happy Friday! Enjoy the All-Star Weekend!! I'll probably be turning SuperSkills into a drinking game again. I'll post the rules if you'd all like to participate! Hooray!

  3. Paul in glasses makes my ovaries sing the Hallelujah Chorus. Plus the picture of him with the piano? all I have to say is that we could make beautiful music together.

  4. RAWR. Luke Schenn is such a cutie. And uber nice to boot. He's from Saskatoon and is like best buddies with my cousins.

I had no idea Patrik Berglund and Scottie Upshall were so pretty. Nicely done.

That picture of Shane O'Brien and baby gets me every time in the ovaries.

Oh and a comment from me wouldn't be complete without some Big Bear pimpage for you. Canucks TV did a profile on him.

the glasses don't add or detract to his hottness, IMO. However, I live to serve the readership! haha

Part of the reason he did so well is probably his overall nice guy demeanor in addition to his current and potential hottness. As my mom and I discussed over dinner "hey, he's at least 18. its legal!"

I had no idea Patrik Berglund and Scottie Upshall were so pretty. Nicely done.

I happened upon that picture of Upshall accidentally and I'm not sure by what divine intervention I discovered Patrik. Yummy.

That picture of Shane O'Brien and baby gets me every time in the ovaries.

Its so true!! I'm all "I'm not ready for marriage or babies" but one snapshot of a tough guy hockey player holding a baby and I'm singing a different tune.

you're my favorite big bear enabler! hahahaha thanks!!

  12. Um, I hope you don't mind but I'm totally ganking those pictures of Goose. With a daily dose of Goose looking like that it'll be a happy life for me. Mmmm...yum.

  13. Goose in glasses is lovely.

And the piano photo is from a fashion shoot that Buffalo magazine (since killed by the Buffalo News) did a couple of seasons ago. The photos were taken while Goose was out with his injury, as I remember the article mentioning the creative ways that his cast had to be hid.
