Final: Ottawa- 5, Buffalo- 3
The Game's +/-
-:
Paille took a major hit and kind of weaved his way off of the ice. You can see Goose and Yo-yo waiting at the bench to intercept him, and as soon as he got to bench, Goose grabbed him and Yo-yo put an arm out to keep him from falling. Yikes. Not good.
Millsy was pulled half way through the 2nd. This, surprisingly, didn't seem to have much effect on the Senators. However, perhaps it was this move that forced some life into the Sabres and they finally scored. It's like they now see that their job isn't guaranteed. If Lindy will pull Ryan Miller, our savior, then no one is safe.
+:
Vanek had an excellent game (well relatively excellent compared to recent, um, performances)
Stafford had some great plays, no goals, but some good playmaking.
In his post-game interview, Soupy was so mad he looked like he was shaking. Miller was actually showing emotion and frustration but not the sad kind of frustration we're used to. He seemed pissed that he was pulled and didn't understand exactly why. Even Pommerdoodle couldn't be swayed like he normally is. His interviews usually go something like this:
Reporter: Jason, was tonight's game tough?
Pommerdoodle: Yeah, ya know, it was a tough game. Its always tough to lose in that situation.
Reporter: Jason, do you agree that its completely your fault the team lost? You did fan on that pass late in the second.
Pommerdoodle: Yeah, ya know, I think it is, I mean I do suck. You're right. This team would be better off without me.
But tonight, Pommerdoodle actually had intensity in his puppy dog eyes. Maybe its time we let him run around the park off of his leash.
