So the Sabres played some charity golf recently:
Hey Craig! Thanks for coming!
The whole team turned out, including Lindy, to play some golf before training camp starts on Friday. THAT'S RIGHT TRAINING CAMP STARTS FRIDAY!!!!!! Ahem.
Good to see that Staffy is in his usual preseason "I just got my annual haircut" mode:
Don't worry, by January he'll be back to his usual bulky hairy self

There were clips of Pommer and Sissy playing too, but I have to study so I didn't attempt to capture their images with my image capture software. Rosie the Riveter and Staffy were the only ones they interviewed so I had more options because they stood still longer.
Woooo!
In other news, Nathan Gerbe has finally accepted my Facebook friend request but has apparently discovered the sheer joy that is "Limited Profiles". All of my students view my profile on a limited basis, and apparently so too do I view Nathan Gerbe's profile, and probably Drew Stafford as well. Whatev, it makes me laugh that he finally accepted the inevitability of our friendship. We're BFFs in the making, Gerber Baby. I hate that nickname. Let's stop using it ok, Gerbmeister? Sweet. But, for serious, call me all the time, we'll watch movies and play Phase 10. CALL ME.
Prospect camp began today and Buffalo's own beloved "Mr. Awkard Interview" Tim Kennedy has started writing his blog again. YESSSSSSS!!! We've been so deprived since Millsey's Maxim blog ended in June and Pommer hasn't updated his with his thoughts other than answering questions in months and months. Not much happened at camp today it seems, so TK's entry was pretty short.
Hopefully tomorrow will be more of the "OMG EVERY MUSCLE IN MY BODY HURTS, HOCKEY IS HARD, YO."
I have so much reading to do. On that note, I'm going out to dinner, check ya later!

Even though we had to be up early, I actually got a lot of rest in and slept pretty well at the hotel. Was he required to stay at a hotel? It is kind of LAME to be like "Hey guys, how were those commercial grade pancakes at the hotel? 150 thread count sheets? Yikes! My mom brought be freshly made belgian waffles and freshly squeezed orange juice to me in my Egyptian cotton sheet covered pillow top mattress king-sized bed. Hey, guys! Guys? Come on, guys! My mom made cookies! Yeah, that's what I thought, they come running back for the cookies. Pat Kaleta was right."

ReplyDeleteRyan has continued his blog on his official website, although he's only updated it once since he signed his extension. It seems as though he will update it more frequently once the season starts up again and he actually has something to write about. Hopefully, at least!

ReplyDelete!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD! What took him so long?! This is serious hockey news.

ReplyDeleteHa, every few weeks I'm like "Miller HAS to have updated his blog by NOW, right?" And every time it still says July 29, I die a little inside. OK WHOA that was dramatic, I don't exactly die a little inside but I feel a little more detached from a man I've never actually encountered in person except whilst separated by many seats and glass.

ReplyDeleteI KNOW!!!!! I've been refreshing TSN all day, waiting for it to appear as top story. Forget season previews and Mats Sundin, THE BUDDING LIFELONG FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN MYSELF AND NATHAN DAVID AUGUSTUS GERBE IS TRULY BREAKING NEWS.

ReplyDeleteHaha I hope he updates his blog as soon as hockey season starts. His blog entries are pretty funny. He's so sarcastic. His blogs definitely have more personality than Pominville's does...no offense to Pominville or anything haha.
Yeah sucks, Gerbe's profile was recently made limited. His former BC teammate/current Facebook husband Brock Bradford has a limited profile as well; they must have discovered the joy together.
ReplyDeleteSidenote: The same total dreamboat/future porn star Brock Bradford started a conversation with me at work today. And no, it wasn't a "I don't want tomatoes on my sandwich" conversation but an actual like "How was your summer? You live on the Cape, don't you?" conversation. I melted almost as fast as the cheese on his panini.

I was like YO Millsey is funny. Why don't we get to see this more often? Maybe Maria Genero will bring it out of him, hahaha.

Um you two are IN LOVE! Yo, Molly, hook us up with non-limited profiles. IT IS YOUR MISSION IN LIFE. Also, I must see a picture of my new BFF's hetero-life partner.

ReplyDeleteHere's Bradford's Bruins profile.
There's also a picture of the happy couple on Gerb's profile pictures. (Gerbe is wearing the USA team sweater, Bradford the Candian team sweater.)

ReplyDeleteDo you think they had a spring wedding, late summer? Do you think they had a tasteful black tie soiree or a casual relaxing beach escape? P.S. who is that terrified looking baby in Gerbe's profile picture? Much younger sister? Niece? Did he and Brock adopt? They're a little young but if JamieLynn can get knocked up at 16, why stop Gerbmeister and his life partner from raising confused looking children?
